Do I need to buy a ticket to enter Krishna Valley?

All visitors to Krishna Valley should buy an entry ticket – Guesthouse guests included.

!! Exceptions are Krishna Valley residents and immediate family, Somogyvamos residents, MKTHK volunteers and missionaries, Counselling system members and Nama Hatta members.

Tickets can be bought a the reception where the elephants are located.

Krishna Valley and its guesthouses are open to visit all year round.

Where can I park my vehicle?

Gurudeva Bhavan
Please note, no parking at the accommodation – Parking only in Gauranga square in front of the temple.

Elephant Guesthouse
Please note, no parking at the accommodation – Parking only at the dedicated parking lot, next to the Krishna valley’s reception.

Kamala Guesthouse
There is parking available in the garden.

Where can we eat?

There are three options for the guest to choose from:

Temple restaurant is open from 11:30 to 17:30 every day.

Devotee prasadam
(served in the temple or restaurant in the colder months and in the large event tent next to the temple in the warm time of the year)
Breakfast:  8:30
Lunch:  13:30

Ayurvedic Kamala prasadam (please, call +36 30 177 7765 to request)

Breakfast:  8:30-9:30
Lunch:  12:30-14:30
Dinner: 17:30-18.30

Szálláshelyeken

A Gurudeva Bhavan és az Elefántos Vendégház Krisna-völgy területén találhatóak, ezért a szent helyekre vonatkozó szabályok érvényesek rájuk is.

Krisna-völgy lakói igyekeznek mindennapjaikban a természethez közelálló, tiszta életmódot követni. Vendégeinket is arra kérjük, hogy a krisna völgy-i vendégházakban ittlétük alatt legyenek tekintettel erre és segítsék a családok és itt lakók életét, s az idelátogató, pihenni, töltődni vágyó társaikat.

  • kerüljék a  dohányzást, az alkohol és kábítószer fogyasztást
  • kerüljék a szerencsejátékot,
  • gyakorolják a zarándokhelyen a cölibátus elvét, ami tartózkodást jelent a nemi élettől
  • kerüljék a hús, hal, tojáskészítmények, hagyma és gomba fogyasztását

Más vendégek pihenésére való tekintettel kérjük, az esti és hajnali órákban csendesen tevékenykedjenek.

Tudnivalók

Itt tartózkodásuk alatt nagyon fontos, hogy az alábbiakban leírtakat vegyék figyelembe!

  1. A szálláshely elfoglalása az érkezés napján 14-18-ig történik, elutazáskor pedig 10 óráig áll rendelkezésre a szoba.
  2. Szobafoglaláskor kérjük, hogy a vendégkönyvet kitölteni szíveskedjen, hivatalos okirata bemutatásával együtt.
  3. A szobához kapott kulcs az épületbe és a szobába való bejutást biztosítja.
  4. A szobafoglalás esetén a szállásadó megmutatja azokat a helyiségeket, amelyeket a vendégek használhatnak, illetve tájékoztatást ad az általa biztosított szolgáltatásokról.
  5. A szállásadó előzetes hozzájárulásával 4 éven aluli gyermek részére nem kötelező (pót) ágy árat fizetni. Ebben az esetben a gyermek részére sem ágy, sem ágynemű nem jár.
  6. A szállásdíj tartalmazza a közüzemi díjakat és egyéb rezsi költségeket. Ágyneműt huzatot biztosítunk vendégeink részére.
  7. Háziállatot tilos a vendégszobába bevinni!
  8. A szálláshelyen hagyott értékekért sem a szállásadó, sem a Venu Kft. nem vállal felelősséget.
  9. Az átadott kulcsok esetleges elvesztése esetén a vendégek kötelesek azt haladéktalanul jelezni és annak az árát, illetve zárcserét a szállásadónak megtéríteni.
  10. Az apartmanban illetve szobában levő berendezést csak a tulajdonos, szállásadó előzetes hozzájárulásával lehet átrendezni.
  11. A szállásadó és az üzemeltető Venu Kft nem vállal felelősséget a nem rendeltetésszerű használatból adódó anyagi károkért vagy balesetekért.
  12. A vendégek által a nem rendeltetésszerű használattal okozott kár a vendégek részéről a szállásadónak közvetlenül megtérítendő.
  13. A vendégeknek a ház házirendjét figyelembe kell venniük, különös tekintettel a reggeli és esti illetve éjszakai órákra vonatkozó csendrendet illetően.
  14. Amennyiben a tartózkodás alatt a szobával, vendégházzal kapcsolatban bármilyen probléma felmerül, kérjük, haladéktalanul értesítse arról a szállásadót! Utólagos reklamációt nem áll módunkban elfogadni.
  15. Megkérjük kedves vendégeinket, hogy a szoba elhagyásakor a kulcsot adják le a szállásadónak, vagy Krisna-völgy recepcióján!

How can I get access to my room?

When you arrive then please give the guestmaster a call, he/she will take you to your room and give you the keys.

Can I take part in the ceremonies in the temple?

Anyone can take part in the temple programs regardless of gender age or ethnicity.

Please come! You are more than welcome!

If you have any questions while you are in the temple then please do not hesitate to ask the resident devotees – they will be more that happy to help.

Are there camping facilities available?

There are camping facilities available at the Kamala Guesthouse.

The price for camping is 1200 HUF per person per night.
(Approx. 3.7 EURO / 4 USD / 3.3 GBP)

We strongly advise to call the guestmaster (+36 30 239 9265) before you arrange camping here – just in case all our facilities are fully booked.

What presents can I bring for Radhe Syama?

If you are coming, then don’t miss the opportunity to do some seva and bring something for Sri Sri Radha Syamasundara.

If anyone is charitably disposed, it will be very good for Him to give charity only to Krishna… Krishna is present as the Supersoul in every living being, and if we can satisfy Him, then every living being will automatically be satisfied.(Srila Prabhupada’s Krishna Book, Chapter 74.)

Getting here

How to come by car?

Travelling by car:

If you contact us well in advance (a month before), we can organize airport transports for individuals and for groups also.

If you come with your own car or a rented car:

If you are coming from the north, east or west: you should follow the signs towards lake Balaton. When you reach Fonyód town, follow the signs towards Lengyeltóti, then Somogyvár. When in Somogyvár take a left to Somogyvámos and follow the road signs of where to locate us. Krishna Valley is 23 kms from Fonyód.

If you approach the Farm from Budapest on M7, you have to leave at junction 150 and follow the signs towards Lengyeltóti (Kaposvár), then Somogyvár. When in Somogyvár take a left to Somogyvámos.

If you come from the south: you go to Kaposvár, from there follow the signs towards Fonyód. When you reach Somogyvár, take a right turn to Somogyvámos. Krishna Valley is 26 kms from Kaposvár.

There are 2 petrol stations in the 15 km area of the Farm and they are open from 6am-6pm.
One is located in Somogyvár and the other is in Lengyeltóti.

!! Please take note that some maps and GPS system indicate that you can go to Somogyvamos from road number 67 via Gamás and Vityapusztá
PLEASE IGNORE – it is just a dirt track and in many places impassable!!

How to get here

From Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Budapest:

The easiest way to come from the airport is to by the Krishna Valley transfer.

 

Traveling by train:

Nearest station: Fonyód (train from Budapest Deli) or Somogyvár (train from Fonyód).

Cost: 10-15 EUR from Budapest

Once there, you will need to be picked up. Please, consult this page for the prices of the transfer. Please try to inform us in advance of your estimated time of arrival, since cars are not always available for this service.

Traveling by bus:

You can take a bus from Budapest Nepliget Bus station to Öreglak, then take a bus to Somogyvár and from there take a bus to Somogyvámos. Alternatively, pickup from Öreglak or Somogyvár can be arranged. Please, consult this page for details.

What is the weather like?

Budapest climate is characterized by warm sunny summers and short cold winters.
The average temperature in summer is around 25 degrees Celsius (77° Fahrenheit)

  • During the months May, June, July, August and September you will experience pleasant weather with a nice average temperature.
  • On average, the warmest month is August.
  • On average, the coolest month is January.
  • June is the wettest month. This month should be avoided if you don’t like too much rain.
  • October is the driest month.

Money matters

Unfortunately we do not accept either Szép Cards or Erzsébet Coupons to pay for accommodation.

How can I pay for accommodation?

For each online reservation deposit of 5,000 Ft must be paid. Deposit can be paid in two ways – by Paypal or bank transfer (details below). !! NOTE !!  Deposit payment must take place 5 days from the date of the online reservation – otherwise the reservation will automatically be cancelled.  You can pay the reminder of the Krishna Valley accommodation fee by cash on arrival. Right now we are not able to accept credit cards.

Money Exchange / buying Forint

If you are coming from abroad then you should make sure you change money before you come to Krishna Valley.
We will not be able to change your foreign exchange here.
You will not be able to buy things from the shops locally in foreign exchange.
(Although you can give donations in Krishna Valley in any currency)

Be aware, we have no currency exchange locally. 
The closest would be located in the hallway of Tesco’s in either Kaposvar or Balatonboglar, both about 30 minutes away.

There are also ATM machines in the next village, Somogyvar where you can withdraw Hungarin forints.

Krishna Valley Card

If you have a Krishna Valley discount card then you are entitled to a 10% discount on accommodation at Gurdeva Bhavana, the Elephant guesthouse and the Kamala guesthouse and cottage.

Krishna Valley is situation close to Lake Balaton where there are many places to visit.

What is there to see and do in Krishna Valley?

Besides coming to see Sri Sri Radha Krishna on the altar in Their temple, there are lots of things to see and do.

If you are coming in a group and are not familiar with our lifestyle, then be sure to contact the tourist guides who can tell you of what programs are available.

Whilst here there are many walks & gardens to explore, vegetable gardens, the school buildings. Make sure you go and see Krishnas cows in the cow sheds I can guarantee you will never have seen a cow shed like it 🙂

Most basic supplies and sundries can be purchased in the devotee shop located in the corner of Gauranga Square in front of the temple next to the library
